Best day of fishing on the island..captain Mike and first mate Sean are an amazing crew! The ship was pristine, and we caught Mahi Mahi, Yellow Fin Tuna, Hawaiian Salmon (Rainbow Runner) and Ono (wahoo)…highly recommend! They greeted us in the morning bright and early, the boat was clean and the crew were friendly. Despite the ocean being choppy, they made sure that we got out to the Penguin Banks west of Molikai to catch some great fish. The crew were friendly, fun and knew where to find the catch, although my parents were here visiting me and I may not have gone deep sea fishing otherwise, I had so much fun I am going to plan on going again and with this crew! They were able to schedule us with only a days notice for a full day trip. I really can’t say enough good things about them. First Mate Sean filleted all the fish after the trip perfectly and we brought home tons of fish and the boat kept half as well. Really amazing day! amazing crew! Whether you are a sportfishing enthusiast or it’s your first time, Whipsaw is the best charter boat on Oahu, HANDS DOWN. We went out with Tom and Captain Will and they were fantastic. You can tell within the first few minutes of meeting the crew that they know their stuff. Will had a game plan before we even left the dock and he was spot on. We caught two BIG Marlin and got to take home as much Marlin as we could possibly eat. We ended up giving some fish friends too. The whole evolution is so much fun, even if it’s not your turn to be in the chair. You will not be disappointed.
Will and Tom, Hands down, 110% best charter I’ve ever been on. 3 for 3 on blue marlin (release the one that we could safely release). If you don’t understand what 3for3 on blue marlin means, then You need to Fish more. Can’t pay for an experience like Will and Tom produce. I run a small fishing boat out of San Diego, and been on 20+ Sportfishing charters and these dudes are by far the best out there. Only boat I’ll recommending Oahu.
Awesome experience, great atmosphere, and we hooked two marlin and caught them both! Beautiful views and clean professional crew! Highly recommend! Edit! We caught a 3rd marlin and released it! Such a blast!
Captain Mike and first mate Tom took good care of our party of 6. The boat was super clean and the crewed worked hard at making sure we were in the fish and having a good time! We caught two dorado and 5 tuna !! Very friendly outfit! We left happy. Thank you Whipsaw Fishing!!!
Whipsaw did not disappoint! Tom was an amazing first mate and hustled to keep our lines in the fish! Captain Mike knew the spots and we slayed all day! 100% will be back! Best day fishing in Hawaii money can buy!

Captain James came through! I had friends visiting from the mainland and booked the Whipsaw because they have one of the best catch rates for Honolulu charter boats. Captain James gave a safety orientation and then we were underway. 1st mate Nate gave an awesome fishing orientation that included info for the novice & experienced fisherman. The trend for the week we went was that most boats weren’t catching so I prepared my mainland friends for possibly a long boat ride. However Captain James brought us into one of the largest aku piles I had ever seen. Along with four other boats, we worked the pile but unfortunately they weren’t biting but what an amazing site to get to witness. Even if we didn’t hook up, I was already satisfied. Over the course of the day we had two knockdowns, one of which was marlin and 1st mate Nate aggressively reeled and free spooled to see if the marlin would give us a second chance to hook up but it just didn’t happen. Towards the end of the day we decided to run the 40 fathom ledge heading back to dock to see if we could catch an ono. Much to our surprise we ended up hooking up and landing a 20 pound yellowfin tuna. A very happy ending for a full day of fishing. The crew cleaned the fish so there was sashimi for everyone. I have been on many charter boats but in all my years, the Whipsaw is one of the nicest boats with a very hospitable crew. I booked their boat two other times and fished with Captain Will & 1st mate Tom and they as well are true professionals. On top of it all, the air conditioned cabin is a nice treat to beat the heat. I will definitely book the Whipsaw in the future.

Captain Will is great at the helm! Very safe and skilled. Will also knows how to catch fish! His crew are very fish savvy and skilled on deck handling the rods like pro’s. This crew is young, enthusiastic, and super respectful and friendly.

I just spent a week in Oahu and the highlight of my trip was most definitely on Whipsaw Sportfishing. I’ve been on many fishing trips in the past but this one is by far the best and my favorite. I reeled in a beautiful Mahi-Mahi. Captain James and Tom worked very hard to make our trip fun, exciting, and enjoyable! I would so love to do this again!!
